What days do you ship?
We ship Monday through Thursday via UPS Next Day Air. Friday is the only day we don't ship — UPS doesn't guarantee live-animal Saturday delivery, and we won't put a live lobster on a truck that might sit over a weekend. Order on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday and it ships the following Monday.
When will my order arrive?
UPS Next Day Air delivers by 10:30am the morning after we ship. Order by noon Monday → arrives Tuesday. Noon Tuesday → Wednesday. Noon Wednesday → Thursday. Noon Thursday → Friday. Orders after Thursday noon ship the following Monday.
What if my lobster arrives dead?
Contact us within 2 hours of delivery with a photo. We will replace or fully refund your order — your choice, no questions asked. This almost never happens, but when it does, we fix it immediately.
How do I know if the lobster is still alive when it arrives?
A live lobster will move when you touch it. Even if it's sluggish from the cold (totally normal), it should react. Lobsters slow way down in cold temperatures. If it is completely limp and unresponsive, that's when you contact us.
Can you ship to my state?
We ship to the continental US (48 states). We do not ship to Hawaii or Alaska — UPS Next Day Air transit times to those locations make live delivery unreliable.
How do I cook them?
Boiling is the easiest. Fill a large pot with heavily salted water (taste it — it should taste like the ocean). Bring to a rolling boil. Add lobsters head-first, cover, and cook: 12 min for 1.25 lb, 14 min for 1.5 lb, 18 min for 2 lb. Shells turn bright red when done. Serve with melted butter.
How long can I keep them alive before cooking?
Cook within 24 hours of delivery. Keep them in the refrigerator covered with a damp cloth or newspaper — NOT in water (tap water kills them). NOT on ice. NOT in a sealed container.
Can I order in advance?
Yes. Place your order any day and we'll ship on the next available Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. We'll confirm your ship date by email.
Is shipping free?
Yes — UPS Next Day Air shipping is included in the price of every order. What you see is what you pay. No shipping fees added at checkout.
Do you offer gift orders?
Yes — at checkout, enter the recipient's address as the shipping address. We also sell gift cards if you'd prefer to let them choose their own order.
