The process
Simple. Fresh. Overnight.
We ship Monday through Thursday — four days a week — so your lobster is never in transit over a weekend. Friday is the one day we don't ship, because UPS doesn't guarantee Saturday live-animal delivery.
Order by noon
Browse our products and place your order any Monday through Thursday before noon Eastern Time. We confirm by email within the hour. Orders placed after Thursday noon, or on Friday through Sunday, ship the following Monday.
We pack fresh
Same afternoon, we pack your lobsters in an insulated seafood shipper with gel refrigerants and damp packing to keep them calm and alive in transit. Each box is sealed and labeled UPS Next Day Air with your tracking info.
UPS overnight
Your lobsters go on a UPS truck that evening and are in transit overnight. UPS Next Day Air delivers by 10:30am the next morning. You'll have a tracking number in your email before we go to sleep.
You cook
They'll be alive and active when they arrive — even if slightly sluggish from the cold, they should respond when touched. Cook within 24 hours. If anything doesn't look right, contact us immediately.
Cook Instructions
Boiling (easiest)
Fill a large pot with heavily salted water — it should taste like the ocean. Bring to a rolling boil.
Add lobsters head-first, cover. Cook:
- 1.25 lb → 12 minutes
- 1.5 lb → 14 minutes
- 2 lb → 18 minutes
Done when shells are bright red. Serve with melted butter.
Steaming
2 inches of salted water in pot, bring to boil. Place lobsters on a steamer rack, cover tightly. Add 2 minutes to the times above.
Steaming results in slightly more tender meat than boiling — worth the extra step if you have a rack.
Storage until cooking
Keep in refrigerator covered with damp newspaper or a cloth. Do NOT put in water (tap water kills them fast). Do NOT seal airtight. Do NOT put on ice.
Cook within 24 hours of delivery for peak freshness.
